Art History Exhibit

For the 2017 Cal Poly Pomona Art History Segment of the PolyKroma Exhibition, there was a need to develop a space where information could be shared both visually as well as through tablet technology. Banners were developed to showcase a timeline of Art History, while digital elements were developed to showcase the written Thesis treatments of 6 Research Papers. The timeline concept was blended between the wayfinder posters and the interactive PDF documents on the iPad tablet.

The way finder for the Art History Exhibit served as both a sign as well as supplemental information to the exhibit itself. I utilized a timeline of historical periods in art history to give a sense of scope as to the length of Art History for the common viewer. This timeline connected with the interactive PDF on the screen below. At the top, we begin with Antiquity, taking the viewer down the sign to Pop Art visuals leading to the branding and interactive table to read more for the exhibition.

I was also tasked with developing and creating other supplemental exhibit informational signs to guide visitors through the exhibition. These signs gave descriptions to the different components to the overall exhibition. Each components brief was provided for the guests of the event.

The iPad was utilized as a Showcase Brochure for the Art History Department, as well as a way for visitors to view the thesis briefs of the 5 Academic Journal Research Briefs of the graduating Art History Majors in 2017. The logo for the Art History department exhibit was utilized for all iconography as well as accent to the timeline selection. The Timeline which connects with the way finder poster helped guide the reader through the documents of historical artworks researched. This both gave further connection to different periods in the history of art.
