[title of show] is a story about two young theater school graduates in New York City pursuing the dream of creating an Off Broadway musical for a theater festival, all while working college job just trying to make rent. I used the dreaming student drawing in the margins of their notes for inspiration into the creative direction to create the poster and branding of this production.

Client: UpNext Productions along with Surfside Casting

To make the initial casting announcement, I developed the idea of looking through a notebook and discovering old notes that are going to be critical for the next exam. In this case, finding the “big news” of the cast announcement for an upcoming show, the paper rips exposing the title of the show with the other information being included by classic typewriter typeface.
